The Multiplex Lupus Study As of March 2004, over 600 multiplex lupus families have participated in this study. But more families are needed to find the genes that cause lupus! The Lupus Genetic Studies are currently seeking families with 2 or more blood-related members diagnosed with systemic lupus (aka SLE or lupus) men and women families of all ethnicities African-/Black Americans Hispanics Native-Americans/American Indians Asians/Pacific Islanders Caucasians and more! (go to Minority Populations page) A diverse group of families is needed to make the results of Lupus Research as complete as possible.
