The Simplex Lupus Study
As of March 2004, over 300 simplex lupus families have participated in this study. But more families are needed to find the genes that lead to lupus! The Lupus Genetic Simplex Studies are currently seeking
  • families with
    • 1 living member diagnosed with systemic lupus (aka SLE or lupus)
    • 1 parent and 1 child diagnosed with systemic lupus (aka SLE or lupus)
    • identical twins both diagnosed with SLE
  • these families should have (available & interested in participating)
    • 1 or more parents of the lupus patient
    • 1-2 siblings of the lupus patient
    • 1 healthy, unrelated individual (see Controls for more info)
  • men and women
  • families of all ethnicities
A diverse group of families is needed to obtain valid results and make the research as complete as possible.Check out the following links for more info:
