Principal Investigator: John B. Harley, MD, PhD
Dr. John Harley is a respected Rheumatologist and world-renown investigator in the field of Arthritis and Immunology. He graduated from The University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1976 and has been working at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for more than 20 years. He initiated the Lupus Genetic Studies in 1991 and hopes that the efforts made by his team will contribute to conquering lupus and halting the havoc it creates in people's lives. ![]() Clinical Coordinator: Gail R. Bruner, RN, BSN Gail Bruner received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 1979. She worked as a nurse in Oklahoma City until 1988. Since 1988, she has been involved with clinical research and joined the Lupus Genetic Studies in 1995. Gail is the day-to-day manager of the study, the study's spokeswoman, and an outspoken advocate for lupus research. She believes that this study's work will someday help scientists, patients and doctors eliminate the suffering caused by lupus.
